                     IMPORTANT NOTES BEFORE YOU PLAY
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
--BEFORE YOU PLAY! VERY IMPORTANT!
After you mount this, Open your pod.ini file in notepad, and make sure
that it is listed ABOVE (before) the sound.pod file.  If it isnt, simply
switch them around, and save it.  I repeat: ABOVE the sound.pod file.
--ALL CUSTOM TEXTURES--
Every texture used in this track was created right here, from scratch,
for the ulimtate in uniqueness. Everything you see, and I mean everything,
is custom.  Over 250 custom textures total!  Yes, that's right..
"Two-Hundred and Fifty", all original.  The most of any MTM track ever made.
--ANTI 90 DEGREE CORNERS--
This road has corners of every angle you can dream of... 10 degree bends,
25 degree turns, 17 degree twists, 45 to 45 degree corners, and
combinations of all of the above.  This is a MTM FIRST. Not since
Dark Star has NON 90 degree corners ever been used, and in Dark Star,
the corners were only partly "lit", allowing the textures to be placed
in any order without lining up perfectly.   These are all there, all lit
up, and in all kinds of combinations.  A few 90 degree corners were used,
but they are custom made as well.
--CUSTOM PROPS--
35 custom props, to make this trip as original as they come. All new custom
checkpoints, 10 custom signs, 5 vehicles, a new blimp, a custom backdrop to
eliminate the hall of mirrors, and 3 new lighthouses.  Check out the detail
on them all.  The wheels on the cars even spin.
All have been phototextured for the ultimate in realism.
--CUSTOM SOUNDS--
The FIRST Custom ambient sound script. No need to turn on the Pre-race music,
its integrated into the track itself, as a the first new ambient sound scheme.
Seashore sounds abound, for the real "Cape Hatteras" feeling.
--MOVING MODELS--
The Maximum amount of moving models was reached, making this a fully
interactive drive.
--FULLY RENDERED TERRAIN AND TEXTURES--
This terrain and it's textures fully envelope the entire 256 by 256 grid that
makes up the MTM "world".  Although alot was converted into flat ocean, the
mountains and terrian that you can drive on are complete... there are NO
unfinished sections.  Recommend veiwing at 100% distance if at all possible.
--ANTI SHORTCUTS--
Shortcuts suck.  There are none here... 19 checkpoints to make sure of it.
Don't bother looking for any, because the terrian is so rough off the road,
that finding any will be impossible.
--COMPUTER AI--
Fast computer competition.  The only section they have any trouble with is
the highway, driving with the cars.  Although, they are set to try to sqeeze
between them, so its just a matter of luck.
                    CAPE HATTERAS and the OUTER BANKS
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  While designing this track was a huge chore, in my research to find out
the details about the area I was trying to re-create, I learned alot about
the coast of the great state of North Carolina. The great thing about the
net is that you can visit places you could never afford to go to. Researching
this was alot of fun. Take a minute and read about it below.

  Cape Hatteras is a cape on the seashore of North Carolina. It is truly
a fascinating place. Dig your road Atlas out and take a look at it, the
cape itself is a extremely narrow piece of land that streches out into
the Atlantic, curving around back tword the shores of North Carolina.
The lighthouses, and the cities, and highway designations on all the
road signs, are real places and real highways. All the signs are all
accurate to the real North Carolina... right down to their direction.

  The Cape Hatteras lighthouse, depicted in this track, is the tallest
lighthouse in the United States. Due to the flat nature of the landscape
in North Carolina, all the coastal lights have very very tall towers to
increase the distance they can be seen from Sea. Since there are no
cliffs to perch them on, they made the towers very tall. The different
black and white stripes on the towers may look cool, but they are
actually there for a purpose. It helps them serve well as beacons
in the daytime, allowing them to be seen from a distance much easier.

                               PERSONAL NOTES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-- Holy smokes did this one take forever.  About 3 months of solid, daily
work went into this track.  Adding it up, I probably logged 150 to 200
hours of solid work...  and that figure might even be on the low side.  The
trouble is, when you set out to make an all-new track, you have the same
burden put on you as a crew of 10 to 20 people at TRI have to spread
around.  It takes an incredible personal commitment.  For the last month
of editing this, my social life was literally zero.
-- In repsect for the time energy, sweat and blood put into this, I beg you,
please do not unpod or use files from this.
-- Despite doing all the editing personally, truthfully I could never have
done this without support and help from several people. Some have thier
own personal models in this track, and I am eternally greatful for thier
donations of these models.  Please take time to read the credits near the bottom,
and remember their names.
                       CREDITS AND SPECIAL THANKS TO
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
---MaXx
for going severely out of his way to learn the complexities of
Corel Draw to aid in the texture creation. Also thanks to MaXx
for answering many of my curious East Coast questions, and surfing
the net for me, for many needed items. Integrity and honor. Unity, bro.

---BinMasta
For the hours and hours of work on one of the sweetest bin's ever made,
the yellow camaro. Take the time to stop by the car, drive around it,
check it out. It has immaculate detail. BinMasta made it all himself.
!!NOTE: This is NOT a remake of the "crazy camaro" recently
relased on the mtm webboard. I repeat: BinMasta started this baby with
NO files from Damion Nighthawks' creation. It is an ALL NEW, totally
different bin file. Get the camaro and other great bins at Bin-Masta's
MTM and MTM2 Custom Designs page, at
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Garage/5527

---Wreckrman2
for giving up his only copy of Corel Draw to MaXx via snail
mail, to aid in the 'cause'. And thanks for the occasional
MX madness race, to keep my sanity.

---Spreker&Xena
for making the Vegas Tourney possible, and for allowing this
YM creation to grace the Vales.com computers at the Tournament.

---Alpine
the bus and the van both had wheels and bin conversions done by
Alpine. Thanks for the help.

---DRod
DRod made the "detour" sign seen on the highway. Also thanks for the
binediting advice.

---Bosshogrox
Boss made the Ram Truck that you'll see tooling along the road.
The conversion of it was done specifically as a favor. Thanks.

---Cobalt
He made the Van bin originally, as a driveable truck.

---Garrett
for the killer, awesome Toyota Supra Turbo that cruises the highway.
although Garrett got the bin from CART Racing, he did a superb job
of turning it into a great MTM2 bin.

---TVelocity
for being a trusted beta tester, who kept his mouth and keyboard
silent throught the entire process.

---GentleBen
another trusted beta tester, thanks.

---And thanks to the wife for putting up with me devoting every ounce of my
free time to this track. I'm lucky I have someone so understanding.
